Nike has unveiled three new footwear styles combining influences from the street and the brand’s heritage.

“It’s about bringing superior craftsmanship to these new shapes and new forms.” says Senior Product Merchandiser Marco Murillo of the Hi-Jack, Air Offense and Air Zenyth. “These are new shoes influenced by past models with color combinations and crafted materials not yet used on any other design.”

The Hi-Jack is the design closest to the original found in Nike’s first street-oriented “Freestyle Collection” for women. A unique sole and embellished leather circle at the ankle both sport the signature swoosh and Nike name. Stitched against parachute material, which is also used in the original hi-top, this design is available in over almost 100 different colors. Built on a new last, which ,as Murillo explains, “has refined the inner foundations of the shoe to make for a more streamlined shape,” the Hi-Jack is set to be a style staple.

Meanwhile, suede, leather and Nike’s rip-stop nylon have been combined to make the Air Zenyth. Its visible shoe airbag touches on elements from the Air Max One released in 1987 but again is held within a more refined shape. Welded logos, a buttoned-down tongue and comfort sock liner work together to form a contemporary low-top built for everyday wear.

And the Air Offence works to meet both men’s and women’s standards of streetwear. This low-top is inspired by the 1984 basketball shoe Vandal while retaining all signature qualities of the current release. A hidden air unit, metal eyelets, heel tab and design lines on the upper of the shoe keep Air Offence in a heritage class while remaining true to current Nike elements.
